Update: Edina House Fire Turns Fatal
This morning’s house fire in Edina has claimed the life of a 74-year-old woman.
The woman’s 75-year-old husband was able to escape from the fire by jumping from a second floor window onto the garage roof, according to KSTP.
Crews were called out to the 7200 block of Lanham Lane about 12:30 a.m. and found heavy smoke showing from the 2 1/2-story dwelling.
Video shot by KSTP crews shows heavy smoke pushing from both floors of the dwelling and firefighters using handlines on heavy fire conditions right inside the front entryway. Another crews is forcing entry into the garage.
The fire burned through the roof on the D-side of the home.
KSTP reports that crews worked for several hours to locate the missing woman.
Mutual aid was received from Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Richfield and St. Louis Park.

They arrived to find fire in the bar area of the business St. Paul Fire Public Information Officer Steve Zaccard said the fire was placed under control pretty quick, but it caused quite a bit of smoke damage.
Units from Minneapolis Fire Department assisted St. Paul crews. Maplewood Fire Department’s air unit was also called to the scene to refill SCBA cylinders.

Crews Search for Missing Occupant in Edina Fire
Fire crews are searching the remains of a charred home for a missing occupant after a house fire in Edina Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to the 7200 block of Lanham Lane just after midnight. They arrived to find heavy smoke and fire from the 2 1/2-story dwelling.
According to KSTP, crews rescued a male from the second floor of the home.
Crews are now searching for a woman who was believed to have still been in the home.
Several departments were called to the scene of the fire.
