Firefighters Battle House Fire In Linwood

June 22 – Firefighters from the North metro worked to contain a house fire in Linwood Wednesday afternoon.

Linwood Firefighters were dispatched to the 6900 block of 225th Lane around 12:30 p.m. The initial caller reported smoke in the area, a possible dwelling fire.

While responding, Linwood Captain 11 reported a smoke column and requested mutual aid from Wyoming and East Bethel Fire Departments.

Upon arrival Linwood Captain 11 reported the dwelling was well involved.

Crews deployed handlines, set up a drop tank and quickly knocked down the main body of fire. Crews remained on scene to perform extensive overhaul.

Firefighters from East Bethel and Wyoming assisted Linwood with fire suppression and water supply operations.

Linwood Garage Fire Spreads to Home

Just after 4 p.m. on Monday, Linwood units were dispatched to 5816 South Linwood Dr. for a reported
garage fire. Subsequent 9-1-1 calls reported a fully involved garage. Anoka County auto aid was activated calling East Bethel and Stacy.

Linwood Chief 1, Kendall Minske, went on scene with a fully involved two stall garage attached to a split level house. He requested an
additional engine from Wyoming to the scene.

Firefighters initially knocked down the heavy volume of fire in the garage and moved to the interior of the home.

Tankers unloaded their water into drop tanks set up near the scene.

According to Chief Minske, the fire was under control in about an hour and no injuries were reported.

A total of 45 firefighters from the four departments responded.

  • Assignment: Linwood Engines 1 and 2, Tankers 1 and 2, Rescue 5 and Grass 3, Chief 1, East Bethel Engine 11, Tanker 21, Wyoming Engine

Early-Afternoon Garage Fire in Linwood

Just before 1 p.m., Linwood Fire was dispatched to 240th Avenue for a reported garage fire. The 9-1-1 caller reported two vehicles were also in the garage.

Linwood Chief 1 went on scene with a fully involved garage. Mutual aid was requested from the Stacy Fire Department.

Units are still on scene.

Stacy units were released about 1:20 p.m. and all Linwood units went in service around 2:30.
