May 7 – Ham Lake crews were called to the area of 133rd Lane and Aberdeen Street around 1:00 p.m. for a reported grass fire in the area.

Ham Lake Captain 13 went on scene first and reported a slow moving grass fire not endangering any structures.  Grass 1 and Grass 2 crews as well as Engine 1  arrived shortly after and quickly extinguished the fire.

Crews remained on scene for about 30 minutes mopping up hot spots.

Breaking: Numerous Agencies at Coon Rapids Brush Fire

April 15 – Several departments have been called to a large brush fire in Coon Rapids on Friday afternoon.

Coon Rapids crews were called to the Yellow Pine Street NW near 128th Avenue NW around 3:30 p.m. and found several fires burning along the railroad tracks that line the west side of the Bunker Hills Golf Course.

Mutual aid was called from Andover, Anoka-Champlin and Ham Lake for brush rigs and firefighters.

Trains Spark Several Brush Fires in St. Paul

April 5 – Several St. Paul crews were kept busy battling a series of brush fires along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks on Tuesday.

Engine 18 firefighter’s were working in the 300 block of Atwater Street and called for additional engine companies as the fire spread to nearby businesses just after 2 p.m.

Crews were also called to fires near Calvary Cemetary and other locations over a two-mile stretch of railroad tracks.
